The house was
just not only a home but an expression of art, reflection of the owner family
descendant, and a proud heritage of a society dating a decade ago.
My home and my
birthplace, a Malacca designed house has through time rewarded a safe place for
several past families after in existence for more than 111 years.
Located in
Kampong Bharu, at a crossroad between Jalan Mahmud and Jalan Hamzah, a simple
yet appealing in design, the house made up of entirely from wood will now has
to be brought down to make way for a more contemporary and common design, still
to function to house a living soul.
Constraint by
weather over the years and depleting wood craftsman or carpenter, the house bear
a humble physical conditions but from afar still possess that magical charm.
Unique features
of a Malacca house is the veranda which carry lots of creative motif and serves
as functional air passageway.
