COLLECTOR ITEM THAT CARVED HISTORY



The house was just not only a home but an expression of art, reflection of the owner family descendant, and a proud heritage of a society dating a decade ago.

My home and my birthplace, a Malacca designed house has through time rewarded a safe place for several past families after in existence for more than 111 years.

Located in Kampong Bharu, at a crossroad between Jalan Mahmud and Jalan Hamzah, a simple yet appealing in design, the house made up of entirely from wood will now has to be brought down to make way for a more contemporary and common design, still to function to house a living soul.


Constraint by weather over the years and depleting wood craftsman or carpenter, the house bear a humble physical conditions but from afar still possess that magical charm.



Unique features of a Malacca house is the veranda which carry lots of creative motif and serves as functional air passageway.

We are calling those ardent admirer of Malay Tradtional Malacca house to acquire the different portion of the house or simply preserve this artistic component of the house which may be vanished in the near future. Just see the adorable motifs associated with the veranda’s window frame.

This house is a 12 pillars structured and almost all is made up of Cengal hardwood. It was reported via a study from Architecture Faculty of Uitm University, the wood came in logs after which it was chiselled into a pillars. The hardness of the wood is so apparent that no nails can pry through.
